As acai’s popularity grows, so does the number of wonderful things that it is alleged acai can help us with. Latest on the list is the ability to help with weight loss: acai provides our bodies with so much nutrition in such a small volume of fruit it means that we can get away with eating less food and still be fit and healthy. Whilst Acai Berry
can and does help us in many other days, the assistance from acai with weight loss has to be one of the most redeeming features.

Long before it helped us with weight loss, acai has been quite a celebrity in the area surrounding the Amazon rainforest in Brazil. Here it is not used as to help with weight loss, instead acai is sold in great volumes (this is one of the few areas that acai can be harvested from); in addition to this the local Caboclo tribe eat a lot of acai. When I say ‘a lot’ I mean it: one estimate says that acai makes up around 42% of the total volume of food consumed by weight.

We in the Western world are not as hooked on acai just yet, but if it really does help with weight loss, acai could well become even more essential to our diets.
